I believe my job as an Intimacy Coordinator is to safeguard actors whilst serving the creative vision of the director and cast. I work hard to do so compassionately, gently and with artistic integrity. I am deeply collaborative because I have worked on both sides of the camera; I understand exactly where the actor's experience and the director's vision meet.

I structure my work and choreography around consent. This means that, together, we find a way to tell the story with active engagement whilst ensuring everyone's physical and psychological safety. I try to make it easy, honest and collaborative; it lets us get to the magic without any nonsense.

As an accredited IC, I act as:

• An advocate and ally for actors.

• A highly-qualified liaison between actors and production.

• A communication facilitator. This means establishing boundaries and consent, and maintaining a clear line of communication between actors.

• A choreographer, conducting movement coaching or specific choreography when needed. I love working with actors, and I try to offer options to the director where possible.

• Compliance support, ensuring adherence to relevant protocols (union requirements, riders, waivers, closed set protocols, etc.)

Above all, I adore my work and, qualifications and experience aside (!), that might be the most important thing.
